State of the Action: Just like in the Long Jump, an athlete threw out a NY Top 3 All-Time performance to move into the favorite position over the defending State Champ. Salif Mane (Taft) put out a 50-8.5 performance at the City Champs, to move squarely over that 50-ft mark. Jeremiah Willis (CNS), who is defending State Champ, will need to crest that mark for the first time indoors or out to stay competitive, but his 49-2 off a short approach shows he's capable. Don't forget Jadan Hanson (Uniondale), who has a 49-4.5 to split the pair in the seeds, while Meldon Grant (Manhasset) rounds it out with a 48-3. | |||||
