This Year's Outlook
The Spartans returned to more normal territory at States last year with a 3rd place finish by a squad that had a lot of freshman pep. Now a top sophomore trio of Tyler Berg (absent from post season), Evan Brennan, and Aidan Gilloley hope to carry Burnt Hills to its sixth state championship, with the last one coming in 2009. Seniors Mike Bashant and Luke Gobel placed in the States top 50 last year and give the Spartans the depth they need to potentially match up well with Pittsford Mendon at States this year.

Pittsford MendonVikings

Pittsford Mendon's Henry Burton (no. 508) finished 14th and was followed in two places later by Isaac Goodman as the two seniors filled up the spots behind Nathan Lawler to spur the Vikings to another States title. Eastridge's Caleb Covell was 15th.

This Year's Outlook
After sailing fairly smoothly to three straight state championships, the Vikings have suddenly entered rougher waters after the graduation of the 2-3-4 guys Henry Burton, Isaac Goodman and Griffin Hess from last year's varsity and the recent rise of some well-stocked opponents around the state. With last year's States runner-up and top returning Class B guy Nathan Lawler leading the Mendon attack, the Vikings are still well set for this season's battle, and Corey Woodward and Sam Trawick help give the team the best top 3 in Class B. Still, PM will have a little more urgency in restocking with some young legs on a squad that includes all seniors except Lawler among the top returning 7.

This Year's Outlook
The Tuskers have six guys back from last year's varsity including twin terror frontrunners Greg and Matt Fusco, so the team looks nicely set to battle Pearl River for its first sectional crown in nine years. Nico Papalia combines with his fellow junior Fusco Tuskers to form a great top trio that should see some big development this year. With a little more work at enhancing the lineup, Somers should be able to avoid a pair of painful items from 2015: a 1-point sectional loss to Pearl River, and two brothers fighting for the last medal at States.

This Year's Outlook
The Pirate crew that won sectionals by 1 point last year was a mix of mainly seniors and freshmen, and now a trio of sophomores is back to lead a young squad that will be looking to move up from its 6th place States finish. Brian Mahoney, Brian McCann, and Brendan Harding are back after top-20 finishes at sectionals in 2015, and if they can continue their strong development and win the big battle with Somers again, the Pirates could be could be hunting for their first state championship in 11 years.

BrightonBarons

Brighton's Paul Dellinger kicked home 5th at States last year for the all time best by a Baron.

This Year's Outlook
The Barons have their top duo of Paul Dellinger and Jonah Simpson returning from last year's 3rd place S5-B team. Dellinger got Brighton's highest place ever at States last year when he ran to a 5th, and Simpson finished 10th at sectionals, but with a couple of key guys gone from last year's team and nearly all of the returning Barons being seniors, Brighton may need an infusion of young talent and a big boost in the back of the lineup to make a serious run at Pittsford Mendon for the team's first sectional title in 11 years.
