MileSplit NY - Stunning. We knew going into this weekend that big things were on the horizon, but we just didn't know the caliber of the performances we would see. Performances were split between the Armory Collegiate Invite in NYC, and the New Balance Grand Prix in Boston. Highlights don't do each mark justice, but we hope to clue you in to some of the top stories, other than some sily football game.
More to come on Carolyn Bethel's US top 10 all-time 1000 meter run and the Forest Park boys clocking one of the fastest 4x200 meter relay times indoors in state history.
Highlighting NJ at the New Balance Collegiate Invitational at the NY Armory. Some amazing performances here.
MileSplit NY - As we head into championship season once again, life begins to become all about a number. Grabbing that state standard gives you just a little bit of cushioning at your State Qualifier, ensuring that if you place Top 3 in your event at that qualifier, you are heading to Cornell. Cehck out below if you have made the list, then check back tonight to catch some live meet updates.
Michael Cherry, Carolyn Bethel, and the Forest Park boys 4x200 meter relay lead a small group of Virginia preps who will be competing this weekend in the high school portion of the New Balance Collegiate Games at the New York Armory in New York City.
MileSplit HQ - We'll be heading up to Boston this weekend to catch the great New England vs. New York rivalries being played out on the Reggie Lewis Oval, but that doesn't mean there isn't some action back home. Despite the meet focusing on the collegiate, the New Balance Collegiate meet will showcase some of the next great athletes on the high school scene. The entire fields can be listed by their US ranked performances this year, meaning the competition will be top-of-the-line. Also included will be two athletes from Canada, who could very well pull out the win. Every race has something to get excited about, and it will not be suprising to see the leaderboards rewritten after this weekend. Check out al the matchups below.
