Defending girls national champs, Fayetteville-Manlius was recognized last night by the Syracuse Sports Hall of Fame at the organization’s induction dinner at Drumlins Country Club in Syracuse.
F-M was honored for its achievements from 2006 through 2009, which included four straight CNYCL league titles, Section 3 championships, and state and national championships. F-M girls, led then by Bill Aris and his son John, posted a perfect 15 at the 2009 state championships, the first in New York State history.
This 2010 squad most recently won the Eastern States race at the Manhattan Invitational and is favored for a fifth straight national title.
Bill Aris continued as head coach this year while John left high school coaching and is the head coach for the Nike-sponsored Stotan Racing.
