Boys Individuals
Breakdown: It's a State Meet rematch, and now, the home field advantage has shifted. Solomon Holden-Betts took home the title in the Class A race at States, held at the VVS High School course. It's a course that Section 3 has used for Sectionals and large invites for years, and Holden-Betts has had more experience than any other top finisher on the hills of Verona.
Now, the tables have turned.
Ethan Green and Collin Gilstrap have made regular trips to Bowdoin Park through the years, as the Section 1 Sectional Meets have been held here, despite the course laying closer to Section 9 than Section 1. Both athletes have grown up on these hills, and are well prepped to give it one big push.
Still, until proven otherwise, Holden Betts is the favorite. He has the highest Speed Rating of the field by three points, and while States was a kickers race, this one may not. Plus, they'll have wild cards like Adam Furman, who ran in Class D, and Ronan Luff, who ran in the AIS Champs, to throw some unfamiliarity into the field. This one is wide open, and could come down to the finishing straight.
