Summary: It's rare to see a team in the 4th slot projected as the champ here in S3-A, and it is largely due to the results of the SCAC meet, which serves as the lead-in to the S3-A race. Auburn did earlier win at the low-key Weedsport meet with very solid ratings, but the Maroons' win at SCAC was largely based on the fact that the higher-rated Fayetteville-Manlius, Baldwinsville, and West Genesee (on an off day) all have giant 1-5 splits, while Auburn has similar speed ratings to the Bees and the Wildcats and has a great compression number that is 1/3 the size. The day of the S9-A race could see very different action from SCAC, but the Maroons are working off a solid winning formula. West Genesee's Peter McMahon won last year's race, but this year he will be in a scrum with the three guys who finished ahead of him at SCAC, Baldwinsville's Solomon Holden-Betts and FM's Anthony Otis and Nolan McGinn.

1 | Sauquoit Valley | 138.6 | Owens, Keller, Hanna, Mudge, Acquaviva |
2 | Beaver River | 133.6 | C. Zehr, M. Zehr, Boliver, E. Moore, K. Moore |

4 | Tully | 128.8 | Rauber, Mohat, Dodd, Linblad, Earley, Keller |
Summary: This race gets the red pepper because the Beavers are in it, and even though Sauquoit Valley seems to have the best numbers, if reigning champ Beaver River can put one more guy with a 120+ rating on the line, another title could be theirs. We haven't seen any signs of that happening, but who knows? Pulaski's Luke Tighe is the top returner with a 3rd in S3-D last year, top rated Kole Owens of Sauquoit Valley was 10th in 2021.
