The 10th Annual Ocean Breeze Holiday Festival takes place on Friday, December 27 & kicks off the 2024-25 Ocean Breeze "Big 4 Series."
Over 2,000 athletes & over 200 teams are registered to compete this Friday! The Ocean Breeze Holiday Festival jump-starts a huge weekend here at Ocean Breeze, which will see five meets over four days!
We are also running the Ocean Breeze Fantasy Challenge. You pick the winners of each varsity event & the top three entrants win a prize! Entries close at 9am on Friday!
What to Watch For:
- Fresh off his Gold Medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics, the 2024 USATF Youth Athlete of the Year, Quincy Wilson returns to Ocean Breeze to anchor the Bullis School SMR team with the hopes of breaking their own national record of 3:23.86 in the event. Bullis is entering two teams in the SMR & both have a chance to take over that national record.
- Lyman Hall High School also looks to make history in the boys SMR as they are chasing the Connecticut State Record of 3:28.36, set back in 2018.
- Bullis School is also entering two teams in the girls 4x400 relay with a strong team with hopes of national records as well. The current national record in the event is 3:37.63, held by Montverde and set earlier this year. Bullis School also looks to set the new US #1 in the 4x200!
- Current US#1 Joshua-Kai Smith looks to improve his nations best time in the boys 55-meter hurdles of 7.23.
- Bergen Catholic boys 4x200 looks to take down the existing time US #1 time of 1:27.65
- The girls 800m field has three athletes, Annie Miller (Metrolina Christian Academy), Maggie McCabe (Notre Dame Manhattan), & Ella Masem (Bellport) seeded at 2:12 and look to take aim at setting the new US #1, which is currently 2:21.69.
- Bishop McNamara High School enters the Ocean Breeze Holiday Festival as the US #1 in the boys 4x400 at 3:22.9 & look to improve on the nations best time on Friday.
- The boys 800m field is headlined by Michael Card (Howell) as he looks to set the US #1 in the event which is currently 1:54.77 & Card is seeded at 1:52.44.
