What The Numbers Say:
Corning has been ranked NY #1 since the beginning of the Pre-Season, and have only reiterated their ranking ever since. They have a perfectly balanced team, with two athletes in the 180's, two in 170's, and enough interchangeability behind them to make up for any mishaps. Not only did they win the last time the meet was held at Chenango, but they also won the year after. At the Pre-State Merge, they scored 60 points less than the next best team, in this case it was Manlius. If their numbers stay the same, they'll be hard to catch.
What Can Change:
Manlius and Shenendehowa are dead even, both in the hunt if Corning falters. Shen had a better race at Sectionals than FM, returning Nate Brimhall for a big performance after some time off. Shen was actually the favorite heading into States two years ago at Plattsburgh, but it was FM who beat the seeds to take home the title, now two-time defending Champs. It's a toss up between the pair right now, as both teams have 4th and 5th runners in the same pack of runners.
