Girls Class C Teams

State of the Action: Of all the races on the Girls Side, this was the only one that didn't see an individual repeat champion from the year before.  It was also one of the only races the predictions seemed to be expecting a team repeat.  But that's why they run the race.  Pre-Race favorite Greenwich was without their #2, Nina Sgambelluri, who was seeded to take 10th overall (4th in team scoring).  She hadn't run at Sectionals, but it was thought she might return.  The witches still performed well without, but the projections would be thrown out the window on the starting line.

That race tightened up as Camden saw improvements at all scoring positions, with runners 2-3-4-5 taking a 20-point Speed Rating jump over their efforts at VVS.  It also didn't hurt to start the race off with one point.  They would take the win by two points, even with a fifth runner 9 points behind that of Greenwich.  Camden's 1-2-3 punch was too strong.

This is Camden's first State Title, first appearance at States as a team, and only third ever representation by a Camden runner.  Not a bad improvement trend at all.
