State of the Action: As we mentioned in our preview, Behailu Bekele-Arcuri has been known to peak for State Meets, and that peak played out perfectly, amidst the most adverse conditions of the day. Matching his lifetime best for Speed Rating, Bekele ran with the trio from Manlius until about halfway. In the woods, he put on a surge to pull away, maintaining that lead through the line. With his win, Bekele has now finished Top 10 at States for four years in a row, one of the only few who have done so.
