Boys 3200m
There is plenty of upstate talent looking to get their first tune-up of big competition before outings like the Loucks Games, and a potential State Meet run. Abel Hagos was the reigning distance king this winter, carrying the Section-leading times in both the 1600m and 3200m. His personal best of 9:13.43 comes from the Indoor State Meet, where he placed 5th overall. Sean Henretta is actually the top returner in the field, placing 4th last year behind a Senior-heavy podium. Right behind him was Sam Lawler, whose brother took second overall the year before.
The top out-of-section entry comes from Armani Merlino, the top distance prospect from Section 6. Also from Section 6 area, although he competes in the CHSAA, is Tom Appenheimer, who has the XC credentials for this kind of race.
