Returning to Ocean Breeze one week after his remarkable 1000m effort, Matt Payamps (Saint Anthony's) once again found himself in the thick of things. Undefeated all season, things looked to be turning the other way with two laps to go, as Alex Rizzo (Bronxville) made a move on Payamps, passing him into the lead. But Payamps returned the favor after sitting on Rizzo's shoulder, and kicked away to a new Meet Record of 4:10.51, besting the 4:11.21 that was on the books.
