This Year's Outlook
Bronxville's six-year streak of States titles ended in 2014 when East Aurora dropped down into  Class C for two years. Now the Blue Devils are back up in Class B, leaving behind Newfane as the Section 6 successor for Bronxville to battle with in a potential States showdown in November. The Broncos have senior Kaitlin Ryan back to lead the team, and Olivia Scotti and Kirsten Ircha could well be the 2-3 runners in the title quest. With the usual pack of younger runners hoping to fill the spots left by three graduated varsity members, Bronxville will be looking to build a team that can fight off the challenges in S1-C and then go on a quest for a 13th state championship.

This Year's Outlook
Last year an extremely young Panther team consisting of three 8-graders, three freshman, and a senior ran in the shadows of East Aurora out in S6-C, but now the Blue Deviltry is gone and the blossoming Newfane team is ready to have its day in the sun. Sophomores Nina Burkard and Kimberley Goerss ran to 20th and 29th at States last year, and Burkard's younger sister Vanessa also got some experience there. This bodes well for a team that has Lydia Chunco in a strong 4th spot and just needs somebody to assume the position of Allie DeBiase, the departed senior. If Newfane keeps up the good development work and holds off the rivals in S6-C, the Panthers could be running for a state championship at Chenango Valley.

This Year's Outlook
You never know what you will get with the Golden Bears, because they often have some fast feet, but just not enough of them. Last year Canton lost lead runner Grace Bessette for States and was unable to finish five runners. This year the Bears have a very talented trio of sophomores returning that could lead them to a state championship, but if the squad cannot be filled out more deeply behind Bessette, Emma Bentley-Hicks, Gabriella Scoot and freshman Hannah Tupper they could again miss a place on the team scoreboard..

Newark ValleyCardinals

Newark Valley's Kristina Knight led in a trio of Cardinal freshmen together in their standard black-and-white uniforms, as Sophie Stewart and Marissa Silba joined her seconds later to spur the team to a 3rd place finish.

This Year's Outlook
Last preseason following the end of a 9-year run on sectional titles in 2014, Newark Valley was relegated down deep in the ratings around 17th and did not get one of these spiffy team profiles. But they roared back in 2015 using the time-honored XC tradition of rebuilding with a very young squad and just unleashing them as a pack at States to edge out Chatham by 1 point for 3rd place.  This year the sophomore top trio of Sophie Stewart, Kristina Knight, and Marissa Silba are back, with freshman Courtney Maule in close support. If they further develop at a pace anywhere close to last year and get a little more depth, the Cardinals could be running for a States title.

This Year's Outlook
Last year Dobbs Ferry came within 8 points of ending Bronxville's 18 year streak of sectional titles, and this year the Eagles will be trying to put together the pieces for another attempt at corralling the Broncos. Senior Mika Andrews is back after a 4th place finish at States, and she has a solid pack behind her with Phoebe Ward, Jamie Kramer, and Lindsay Yue. Now after the loss of one key senior, the Eagles need a little depth for some big dreams.
