Section | Top Teams | Notes |
1 | Bronxville, Dobbs Ferry, Briarcliff, Pawling, Putnam Valley, Irvington | Bronxville
shoots for a 20th straight sectional title while on a quest for a 13th
state title, but first it will need to hold off a Dobbs Ferry team
trying to pull off the historic upset.. |
2 | Chatham, Fonda-Fultonville, Broadalbin-Perth, Cobleskill, Schalmont, Schuylerville, Hoosic Valley | The
contest for S2-C should be ferocious as reigning champ Chatham tries to
hold off the big pack of contenders that are all running on a pretty
equal footing. |
3 | Cazenovia, Clinton, Hannibal, Jordan-Elbridge, Skaneateles | Reigning
S3-C champ Cazenovia's has a small gap over the rest of the teams, but
with three of them residing in the NY-C top 20, nothing will be easy
here.. |
4 | Newark Valley, Waverly, Lansing, Windsor | Reigning
S4-C champ Newark Valley should be very comfortably set here in a race
where every team seems to have everyone coming back. Maybe they all want
to run at States in Chenango Valley. |
5 | Livonia, Addison, Waterloo, Attica | Livonia won S5-C last year and Addison won S5-D, and with both rated in the NY-C top 10, this battle should be pretty heated. |
6 | Newfane, Alden, City Honors, Akron, Olmsted, Fredonia | With
East Aurora gone back up to Class B, the S6-C teams are scrambling to
fill the void, and a newly emergent Newfane has a big lead and may be
looking at a States title run. |
7 | Saranac, Saranc Lake, Plattsburgh | With a few graduations for both Saranac teams, this race could be pretty tight. |
8 | Oyster Bay, Wheatley | Oyster Bay will win. |
9 | James O'Neill, Rondout Valley, Dover | Newly
emergent Rondout Valley won a close one over O'Neill last year in S9-C,
and this year the two teams start pretty much dead even. |
10 | Canton, Gouverneur | Canton rebuilt last year and will be one of the favorites in NY-C if it can find more depth.. |
11 | Mattituck, Mercy-Bishop McGann, Southampton | Mattituck won its 4th straight S11-C last year, but after graduation losses the contest with Mercy could be closer this year. |
