What do you enjoy about your event?
I enjoy the whole running aspect. I love being out on the track or on course
competing, and racing against other schools.
What has been the highlight in your running/throwing/jumping career thus far?
The highlight in my career was
probably at sectionals in cross country when I dropped 30 seconds off my time; or a few weeks ago at Houghton
when I dropped 32 seconds off my time.
What’s the funniest thing that has happened to you while competing?
The funniest thing has happened to me
while competing was probably at sectionals in cross country. A bunch of people were slipping throughout the
corners and they were all pushing each other trying to get up.
What thoughts run through your head while competing?
While I’m competing I’m either thinking song lyrics,
counting, thinking what other people are thinking about me running, or telling myself to continue, speed up, and
finish.
What other sports do you enjoy?
I like skiing and lacrosse.
What is your favorite food?
My favorite food is either ribs, mac and cheese, or lobster.
What is one of your favorite movies?
"American Hustle"
What would be your ideal vacation?
Skiing in the French Alps
Who is your role model and why?
It is hard to pick one role model because I have a large number of people
that influence my life. I like certain aspects of all of them. Everyone has their flaws so to choose one person isn’t
enough. If I had to pick one person it would be Steve Jobs because he was brilliant, created so much, lost his job,
and regained it. All in the time of his life he achieved so much. But my actual role model is a combination of my
coaches, educators, older friends, and other adults in my life.
What do you do to relax?
I read while listening to the Les Misérables soundtrack.
Where do you see yourself in 20 years?
In 20 years I will be finished with college and have a medical degree. I will
be working at hospital.
