What do you enjoy about your event?
Getting to run against runners from other schools and of all skill levels. I also like to meet people.
What has been the highlight in your running/throwing/jumping career thus far?
When I finally broke 5 minutes in the 1600 and winning JV NFL’s in the 1600 and 3200 while in 8th grade.
What’s the funniest thing that has happened to you while competing?
About ten minutes before the 1600 against Lockport,
one of my own teammates accidentally spiked my leg, and I had to run
with gauze taped to my leg with electrical tape. It hurt more taking it
off than getting spiked!
What thoughts run through your head while competing?
Don’t fall, don’t have an asthma attack, don’t panic, you got this.
What other sports do you enjoy?
I play soccer, and also sail competitively.
What is your favorite food?
Anything off the dollar menu at Burger King (Lew-Port XC delicacy)
What is one of your favorite movies?
I'm a huge "Lord of the Rings" fan !
What would be your ideal vacation?
Spend a week at the Lake Placid training center.
Who is your role model and why?
My coach, Gary Raby. When everyone else tells me I can’t, he
is the only one who tells me that I can. He is the main reason I have
stuck with running, and I can’t thank him enough for all he’s done. In
addition to being a great coach, he’s a great role model for who I want
to be as a person. He’s mentally strong and kind and outgoing. For that,
he is my role model.
What do you do to relax?
Go sailing, watch TV, nothing too unusual.
Where do you see yourself in 20 years?
Working as an athletic trainer, hopefully living in a city, and still be running for fun.
