| It was a nailbiter down to the final event. Defending Champ John Poplawski had a minor edge (under 100pts) over challenger John Swabik heading into the 1500m. Poplawski just had to be within 12-seconds of Swabik to capture the title. He did just that, sticking on his shoulder throughout the race, and then passing him at the line to solidify his medal.
