| In a repeat of the Loucks Games at the same distance, there was much posturing between top seeds (and future teammates) Matt Payamps and Shea Weilbaker through the early laps. Credit must be given to Tyler Berg for not letting the pace dawdle in the middle, riding the pairs shoulder, and making ample surges to pass. It would come down to the final 200m, where Payamps pulled away for the win, to break Weilbaker's 3200m State Title Streak.
