Manlius Grabs 3 Of 4 Titles, Katelyn Tuohy Continues Record Season - NXN-NY Recap

Girls Team

As we've seen in the other Regionals this season, you can expect the unexpected.  After a season of battling each other, Saratoga and Shenendehowa both have off days.  They both were a bit back from their Federation showing the week before.  In their lapse, Liverpool had their season best effort, after not having run as a team since Sectionals.  This marks their first venture as a girls team out west, after four years of sending the boys.

Manlius dominated the team scoring, with 23 points.  Their 5th runner righted the ship, closing the gap from States.  Their compression is back under a minute, and could close even more with another week of training.

Late Saturday night, Saratoga got the phone call, that they would the lone NY At-Large team.  After Kelsey Chmiel faded in the final 200m of the race, due to dehydration from a sudden illness the night before, it looked as if one of the top returners might not toe the line at NXN.  With her back at full strength next week, another Feds-like performance could see them crack the Top 10 out west.
