Boys Varsity 1

Teams:  Xavier (167.2), Cornwall (160.4), Tappan Zee (150.6)

Individuals: Pat Tuohy (North Rockland) - 176, Ray Sambrotto (Sweet Home) - 173, Blaine Doyle (Cornwall) - 171, Josef Raphael Oettl (Xavier) - 171

Breakdown: This race should bring about the winner in the team merge at the end of the day, but the individual battle is still going to be close.  Pat Tuohy and Ray Sambrotto are out at the front, while Doyle and Oettl will be battling for valuable team points.


Boys Varsity 2

TeamsIrondequoit (162.0), Arlington (157.4), Nanuet (151.6)

Individuals: Ryan Guerci (Nanuet) - 177, Colin Waters (Arlington) - 171, Robert Thompson (Irondequoit) - 169

Breakdown: For all intents and purposes, it looks like Guerci's season long winning streak will continue.  Waters is close enough to challenge, but Guerci has a strong buffer between.  Section 5's Irondequoit has the nod in the team competition.


Boys Varsity 3

TeamsWarwick (166.2), Pearl River (161.4), Washingtonville (157.2),

Individuals: Behailu Bekele-Arcuri (Warwick) - 184, Matt Politis (Pearl River) - 177, Francisco Beltran (Schalmont) - 176,  Tom Gardiner (Warwick) - 174, Thomas Garrison (Washingtonville) - 174, Antonio Beltran (Schalmont) - 173

Breakdown: Two Manhattan Letter Race winners go head-to-head in this Varsity Race.  Bekele has gotten the advantage over Politis in their three matchups so far, and leads the race here.  The Beltran twins throw a wrench into the matchup, and could play spoiler to each.  Warwick and Pearl River also find themselves atop the pack in the team competition.


Boys Varsity 4

Teams:  Monroe-Woodbury (162.2), Mount Academy (154.2), John Jay-Cross River (150.8)

Individuals: Matt Fusco (Somers) - 179, Greg Fusco (Somers) - 177, Mike Hannon (Monroe-Woodbury) - 169

Breakdown: The Fusco's lead the field in the final Varsity Boys Race of the day.  With a clear path ahead of them, they'll look to recover from off-races in the Eastern States Race at Manhattan.  Monroe-Woodbury looks to have an open path to the team win, but Mount Academy will be using the race as a tuneup for Class C competition at States.
