Big Races At Bowdoin Classic Split Between New York and New Jersey

Boys Varsity 2

Individual: William Hare (Princeton) held the lead wire-to-wire throughout the entity of the Varsity 2 boys race today. The senior knew he could take hold of the race from the very start, so he credits a plethora of race tactics he has under his belt to helping him keep the lead with ease. Although the heat was beginning to get to get to the majority of the runners, Joshua Rahn (Saint John's, MA) and Donovan Tucker (Niskayuna) fought to the very end, despite the 10-second gaps between one another, to get second and third place, respectively.

Team: Saint John's established a cushion of 51 points between them and Smithtown to blow the competition out of the water to emerge victorious. Achieving an average time in the low 17s from their top finishers, and with their top 3 runners finishing in the top 10, they proved themselves worthy of the Varsity 2 title. Even though Donnovan Tucker and Marty Dolan of Niskayuna finished in an incredible 2nd and 7th place, it wasn't enough to give them those extra 4 points it would've taken to beat out Smithtown for second place.
