Rebounding from a rough outing at States, Kelsey Chmiel was back on the horse at NBON. She led wire-to-wire, and pushed the effort from the gun. While not quite matching her converted 3200m, it was still good enough to crack the record board. Jess Lawson would take 3rd, Ella Ketchum 5th.

Jessica Lawson moved back up to the bigger distances, after some stellar racing in XC. The field was limited, so the Corning senior was on her own. That didn't slow her down, as she essentially time-trialed herself to a National Title. Plenty left in the tank had there been competition, the effort still put her among the pantheon of NY Distance running. Amanda Vestri (Webster Thomas) would take second as well.
