Arguably New York's top athlete this year, is ending her High School tenure a few days early. With the Sachem East graduation happening this friday, Lauren Harris has other plans. She'll be contesting the 10,000m Racewalk in a loaded field, looking to tackle one more record.
The school held a special graduation ceremony today, recognizing her accomplishment, and presenting her diploma in front of her full class. The full release can be found below.

Sachem East senior and All-American Lauren Harris will miss her high school graduation because she will be competing at Junior Nationals in Sacramento on Friday.
Harris, who is looking to break more records and end her high school career on yet another high note, graduated officially during the school's ceremony rehearsal on Monday morning.
She was recognized on a stage at the football field in front of her classmates, administrators, coaches and family.
Harris graduates as one of the top athletes in Sachem history, and the most decorated and successful high school race walkers in American history.
