State of the Action

There is a big question in the 4x100m, that will likely determine the outcome.  Is Ramone Newland healthy?  The South Shore anchor pulled a muscle at Indoor Nationals, and has seen him on the comeback trail all spring.  If he was healthy, he'd be the heavy favorite for both the 100m and 200m State Titles, after winning the 55m and 300m Indoors.  And yet, he didn't contest those events.

If he's entered in the 4x100m pool, expect that seed to shoot down even lower.  Without him, South Shore still leads the field, but Sweet Home is saving something too.  They run in Section 6, where the fields aren't as competitive, and could be saving a big run for States.  JFK and Niagara Falls are right there, bolstering the Section 6/PSAL rivalry this season.

Section 6's Cheektowaga is also the favorite for the D2 Title, leading what could be a Section 6 sweep of the event.
