Many will seek individual honors at either the historic Foot Locker National Cross Country Championships or Nike Cross National Championships. Nike Cross Nationals will offer the Team National Championship.
Roslyn senior Emily Lipari, the two-time defending Class A state champion, will sit out what would have been her final cross country state meet. Lipari said felt pain in her ankle after the Section 8 conference championships but ran through the discomfort all week and even at the Section 8 championships.
PLATTSBURGH – People often talk about how the greatest athletes create challenges for themselves or invent doubters that otherwise do not exist. It’s rare that an entire team has to create imaginary resistance or in this case, turn on each other.
PLATTSBURGH -- This season seemed destined to be a special one for Fayetteville-Manilus. On paper, it housed the best squad around. Even when Alex Hatz missed the better part of the season after having kidney surgery in August, many believed that FM would still be the best team in the state.
