Registration for Pent/Steeple will close at 9pm on June 3rd for those events to be pulled for database. Then registration will open back up and then will close 9pm on Saturday June 5th.

SECTIONAL INFORMATION

PLEASE READ COMPLETELY AND CAREFULLY  

  

Reminders to be aware of this year:  

  

1.  COVID PRECAUTIONS:  Athletes, coaches and officials: 

    * MUST WEAR A MASK AT ALL TIMES!  (see Section 2 guideline below) 

  **PRACTICE SOCIAL DISTANCING AT ALL TIMES! 

 

Per Section 2:  Athletes must wear a mask during competition. (have the mask up at the start).  If, the mask can't be tolerated, the school should have medical documentation.  Athletes are allowed a "mask break" during the race but must replace the mask ASAP. 

 

Host school specifics regarding COVID screening procedures are on the next page. 

 

Each school is still assigned an event responsibility and is expected to provide Adult helpers. (*Not students or athlete's that are in the meet) (If no helpers are supplied, it is the coach's responsibility to do that job).  Please, check your event responsibility, (on page 3), TODAY, so you can have people lined up for the job.  

  

OnlyAthletes; Officials; Board Approved coaches; and Field Event helpers will be allowed in the competition are.  All spectators are to stay outside the fence or clear of the field event area 

 Competition Area: 

Running Events:   *The area inside the track fence 

*  Athletes inside - ONLY after the clerk has released them  

Field Events:         The immediate area around the event

Pentathlon/Steeplechase Saturday June 5, 2021  Stillwater High School   (See information included) 

Co-Ed Running Events       Monday June 7, 2021   Taconic Hills High School    5:00 start 

Co-Ed Field Events        Wednesday June 9, 2021 Taconic Hills High School    4:00 start 

 

Spectator Limits:2 per athlete (no max) 

Admission:No charge 

COVID screening:None 

Busses:Directed upon arrival 

Concession Stand:None 

 

FACILITIES:  

  1. All-weather track and runways. Please use only 1/4" spikes or less. 

  1. Starting Blocks:  Schools must bring their own starting blocks.  

  1. Please stay back from the fences and do not climb over the fences.  

  

*COACHES:  

*Only "BOARD APPROVED" coaches, competing athletes, officials and adult helpers are allowed in the competition areas.  Spectators should not be in the competition area.  (Please ask your athletes to inform their parents.)  

  

COVID SCREENING:  All teams will submit proper screening forms to the host school upon arrival 

Asst. Coaches and Helpers will need to be screened upon arrival unless pre -screened 

 

ENTRIES:  

 Each school is allowed two entries per individual event and one entry per relay event.  NO WILD CARDS 

Boys may enter four events and girls may enter four events.  

Girls and boys in the Pentathlon may only do the Pentathlon. They are not eligible for relays or individual events. 

  

  

ENTRY PROCESS:  

  

You will be doing your sectional entries through the Mile Split website, www.ny.milesplit.com.  You will need to have opened an account on that site.  (If you do not have an account yet, please do that ASAP.  Do not wait to the last minute)  

Once on the site, follow the directions to enter your sectional meet.  

  

ENTRY DEADLINES:  

 

PENTATHLON AND STEEPLECHASE: ENTRIES CLOSE AT 9:00 PM ON THURSDAY, JUNE 3  

RUNNING EVENTS AND FIELD EVENTS: ENTRIES CLOSE AT 9:00 PM ON SATURDAY, JUNE 5 

 

NOTE:  Because the meets had to be spread out over the course of a week, all entries are due at the same times. 

  

CHANGES CAN BE MADE UP TO 30 MINUTES BEFORE THE MEETS START 

  

SCORING: 10 -  8  -  6  -  4  -  2  -  1  in all events including relays, boys' and girls',  

(Pentathlon will be scored as one event.)  

ADMISSION: Host School will determine admission price, spectator limits, screening protocol, etc... 

  

OFFICIALS:Officials will be assigned by the coordinators.  

**Section 2 will pay for officials, as determined by the Officials contract.  

 Please bring competent ADULT help to assist these officials!
