Charlene Lipsey wins the Girls Invitational Mile
The Millrose Games this upcoming weekend at the Madison Square Garden will feature the nation's fastest two high school boys' 4x800 meter relays. The mile races are typically the highlight of the high school portion of the Millrose Games, but this year's 4x800 meter relay could trump the individual races with a highly anticipated matchup between US #1 Morris Hills of New Jersey and US #2 Albemarle of Virginia.

It’s been five years since former Manhattan College star Aliann Pompey raced during the indoor season. But since she decided to race this winter season, she hasn’t wasted any time in making it count.

Charlene Lipsey pounded her chest with her right hand. The adrenaline hadn’t subsided yet. The motion displayed an affirmation of the Hempstead senior’s heart, although she didn’t really need another display. Her race said enough.
