Several New York high school athletes recorded personal bests at sectional and invitational meets during the week of May 25.
James Chintomby (Horace Greeley) jumped 22-2 in the long jump at the Section 1 Class A Championship on May 28, improving from his previous best of 19-8.25. The mark ranks #71 in New York state and placed third among 22 competitors.
John Lansing (Lake Placid) threw 147-7 in the discus at Section 7 Class C Sectionals on May 30, breaking his previous personal record of 79-1 set in May 2026. The throw set a Lake Placid school record, ranks #77 in the state, and won the competition among 23 throwers. Lansing also improved his shot put mark from 40-2 to 43-5 at the same meet.
Michael Korzonkiewicz (Saint Anthony's) ran 11.08 in the 100 meters at the Eastern States Invitational on May 30, lowering his previous best of 11.56. The time ranks #140 in New York and placed 12th in a field of 105 runners.
Noah Johnson (Middle Country) clocked 15.22 in the 110-meter hurdles at the Section XI County A Championships on May 26, improving from his previous mark of 15.99. The time ranks #68 in the state and earned fifth place among 24 hurdlers.
Hayden Tyndall (Saranac) threw 47-3 in the shot put at Section 7 Class C Sectionals on May 30, bettering his previous best of 43-3. The mark ranks #114 in New York and placed second among 23 competitors.
Moe Karzoun (Sweet Home) ran 49.51 in the 400 meters at the Section VI Class AA Championships on May 27, improving from his previous time of 50.78. The performance ranks #47 in the state and won the event among 16 runners.
Alex Molter (Connetquot) cleared 16-1 in the pole vault at the Section XI County "B" Championships on May 28, improving from his previous best of 15-6 set in May 2026. The height set a Connetquot school record, ranks #2 in New York, and won the competition among 10 vaulters. Molter also lowered his 110-meter hurdles time from 16.75 to 16.32 at the same meet.
