Girls Headline: Destiny Coleman (US #1 for 55HH) vs Taylor Cox (US #2 for 55HH)
Despite residing in Virginia, Joshua-Kai Smith (Gar-Field) has some Jamaican heritage himself, with roots back in the island. He's been the breakout hurdler of the Indoor Season, but two athletes look to challenge him in New York. Shaquane Gordon (Calabar) won both the 100m and 110HH at the Jamaican Champs, running 13.30 for the high hurdles. Daniel Wright (Excelsior) was right behind him at 13.35, but came back to run 49.88 for the 400H.
The American girls will get to settle who's US #1 in the hurdles with their first head-to-head matchup, as Taylor Cox (Union Catholic) takes on Destiny Coleman (Woodlawn, MD).
