Girls Class A - Individuals
Breakdown:
This is a field filled with former champions, but it's a sophomore at the top of the ticket. Zariel Macchia has had a more relaxed season, coming off an International racing stint at the end of the Summer. She won Manhattan by a lean, and has stayed within Long Island since. She came off the Road Racing Circuit win, ten seconds better than a year ago, to qualify for States, so we know she's in shape. She won as a sophomore, but there is a new sophomore atop the ranks. Tsadia Bercuvitz missed most of last XC season due to injury, but on the track, she was the one athlete who challenged Macchia over the 3K distance. After a Summer of training, she comes in as the slight favorite in the State Meet matchup. She's been more consistent all season long in her efforts, and is ready to be challenged. These two are sure to create fireworks.
Lillie Bogdan is a former NXR Champion, while Izzie Sullivan won States as a Freshman. Both are entered here, along with some new names to challenge for years to come, in Fiona King and Sophia Chromczak.
