It is traditionally a respite week between the behemoths that are McQuaid and Manhattan, so many of the big shuffles came from within teams' own Sections. Two dual meets in particular played to great affect, as Saratoga had their best race of the season in defeating Shenendehowa and Guilderland head-to-head at SPAC, with an impressive Speed Rating outcome. Likewise, Auburn and Manlius went head-to-head, displaying a victory for the Maroons in the immediate, but some big placement opportunities down the line.
Bethlehem still sits atop the State, moving as high as reaching the top 5 in the country in the most recent rankings. Two teams outside Class A break into the overall State Top 10, and Manhattan sets the stage for each of them to improve. We'll also be at the Burnt Hills Invite this weekend, which could give a stage for a return to SPAC for Section 2 standouts.
