2023 NY Girls XC Preview: Class A

Section by Section Class A Overview

1North Rockland, Ursuline, Scarsdale, Arlington, New Rochelle, Suffern
North Rockland should have a healthy lead on the field, even without some of their frontrunners of the past.
2Saratoga, Bethlehem, Niskayuna, Guilderland, Shaker, Shenendehowa,, Ballston Spa, Colonie
While this may be the most competitive Section in the State, there is one clear front runner.
3Fayetteville-Manlius, Cicero-North Syracuse, West Genesee, Auburn, Liverpool
FM is known for developing talent, but Auburn and CNS have the pieces to mount a strong challenge.
4Corning, Ithaca, Horseheads
Corning looks to be running the show in Sec4, but the battle for the individual title will be fierce.
5Rush-Henrietta, Fairport, Brighton, Webster Thomas, Churchville-Chili, Victor
Fairport and Rush-Henrietta look dead-even, and one impactful development in either squad could provide the edge.
6Orchard Park, Clarence, Lancaster, Niagara-Wheatfield, Frontier, Williamsville North, West Seneca West
Orchard Park is led by a strong individual, and looks like their team can back her up.
7No representatives
8Syosset, Port Washington, East Meadow, Calhoun, Great Neck North
Syosset has long had a strangle hold on the qualifying position, but it looks like there will be more competition than is typical for that bus ride to states
9Monroe-Woodbury, Warwick Valley, Washingtonville
Competition looks wide open here, which will provide some quality racing.
10No representatives
11Northport, East Islip, West Babylon, Bay Shore, Eastport-South Manor
Northport has a healthy lead on the field after a strong track showing, but Sunken Meadow can be unforgiving, opening up opportunities.
