Indoor State Record Holder Jadon Spain Debuts Big Over 100m

If April is about the relays, May is where the individuals come out and play. Jadon Spain embodied that message when he ran the third fastest All-Conditions mark for 100m on Friday night at the Monroe-Woodbury Crusader Relays. The James I O'Neill senior ran an FAT mark of 10.40 to win the final. There was no wind-gauge, which pushes the mark to the All-Conditions list.

Had the mark been wind legal, it would have tied the standing New York State Record, set by Edino Steele (Pacific) in 2004. Spain is no stranger to record breaking, after a rare time improvement granted him the New York State Record in the 55m Indoors. There, he ran 6.25 to win the Indoor State Meet.

Spain's team is entered in next week's Loucks Games, where both a wind-gauge and warm weather are predicted. It could kick off a very strong May season of sprints, as New York State comes out of the mid-season hibernation that is early Spring running. The mark puts him 69th in the Country for All-Conditions times.
