Summary: It's murky in S3-A and no result would be totally surprising. One of the top runners on both of top teams (Izzie Sullivan for Fayetteville-Manlius and Hannah Boyle for Cicero-North Syracuse) has had no speed-rated results in a month, and for Boyle that extends across two of her team's reported races, resulting in her absence from the team's TR mark. Nonetheless, CNS was the winner at SCAC by 13 points in a field that should not be much different from the one in Saturday's S3-A race. There is much more depth in the field this year, and that is a good thing but it also could be a significant factor in the scoring as the top runners from Liverpool, West Genesee, RFA, Auburn, and Baldwinsville insert themselves into the scoring in unpredictable ways. Izzie Sullivan is the reigning champ and likely will be battling with SCAC winner Kate Putman for the win.

Summary: In recent action, New Hartford was tops at TVL with Whitesboro in 3rd, and Chittenango was 2nd at OHSL Liberty to set up the S3-B action. New Hartford won by 26 points last year, but this year the score should be closer, especially if there are any major health issues. 7th grader Molly Myatt and freshman Alexandria French seem set for a battle at the top.

Summary: The hot red peppers are being picked by the bushel in Section 3's girls races. The speed ratings couldn't be much closer as reigning champ South
Jefferson tries to hold off Adirondack and Cazenovia. South Jefferson and Adirondack both won races at the Bernard Adirondack invite, while Cazenovia claimed the OHSL Liberty title. The big factor here is that Adirondack has a very large 1-5 split (74), while South Jefferson at (46) and especially Cazenovia at (33) have much better compression. There is not a huge field in the S3-C though, so Adirondack could still win. Freshman Cora Hinsdell finished 7th down in Class D last year, and she appears to be far out in front here.

Summary: Beaver River looks to be back in business with a solid team that also has some strength at the top. Reigning champ South Lewis just does not have the depth at the back to repeat. Brynn Bernard was 2nd to senior sister Lexi last year and looks set to be the champ this year.
