New York Boys XC Class A Preview

Class A's Top Runners

All but one of the eleven top guys listed here returning for the Class A battles are seniors, so if your are the one junior, you should feel pretty good about your prospects in next year's 2022 season.

Adam Barbato (Victor). The Blue Devil senior was 4th in the Section 5 Class A race last year and will be trying to lead his team to its first States visit in 15 years.

Nathan Brimhall (Shenendehowa). The Plainsmen star was 2nd in the Suburban Council race last fall and he'll be looking to lead Shen's defense of its 2019 Section 2 Class A title against Guilderland and Saratoga.

Ryan Bush (Saratoga). Bush's Blue Streaks were 5th in the 2019 S2-A race but were tops at the Surburban Council meet last year led by his 3rd place finish.

Matthew Doherty (Mamaroneck). The Tiger junior was one of the top runners in Section 1 last year and he will be trying to lead his team to its first States appearance.

Jayson Chichelli (McQuaid). Chichelli had an enormous 30 point boost in his speed ratings last year as a junior with his 2nd place finish in the Section 5 Class A race, and this year he will be leading the Knights' likely battle with Webster Thomas for the sectional crown.

Julian Franjieh (Niskayuna). The Silver Warrior leader was the champ in last season's Suburban Council race and then topped off the season with a 7th in the Northeast XC championship.

Jack Gregorski and Matthew Gensel (Corning). The Hawks' senior top duo have a solid corps of runners behind them backing the team's bid for its third States title in in six years.

Wyeth Semo (Northport). The Tiger senior was 2nd in the Section 11 championship last year and leads a team that should be strongly in the hunt for a sectional title.

Micah Tindale (Guilderland). Tindale had a strong series of races at 12th Rock last year, and this year's Flying Dutchmen team should be strongly in the hunt for the Section 2 Class A title.

Zack Winnicki (Lancaster). The Legends' senior leader was Section 6 Class A champ last fall for his 2nd place team, and this year he looks to carry a team needing a little more depth to its first States A race in 54 years.
