Several Key New Yorkers Heading To New Jersey For 5K Debut

As high-end competition becomes more slim in New York, the State's top athletes have their eyes abroad for more opportunities. After the success of the first GTSC Fall HS Showcase that saw Brooke Rauber (Tully) set a Section Record, many more from the Empire State are looking to capitalize on the opportunity.

The Boys Side is highlighted by Cross Nationals Qualifier Peter Fogarty (Saranac Lake), Class C State Champ Caleb Bender (Skaneateles), Class D Team State Champ Cory Demo (Beaver River), and the State's #2 Returner from States in Michael Silveri (Eastport-South Manor). The Boys Seeded Race will also see two other State Champs, one from PA and another from VA.

On the Girls Side you have Class C State Champ Lizzie Lucason (Camden), State Class A #3 Returner Katie Turk (Carmel), and transfer student McKinley Fielding (Carthage), who ran 17:14.34 in the first round of the Fall Showcase Series. The Girls Seeded Heat will see two Gatorade XC Athletes of the Year from other States, as well as the 2018 Foot Locker Champion.
