NY's Female Cross Country All-Decade Program & Individuals

Top Girls Program Of The Decade

While all-star individuals can come and go, it takes a whole program to win a team title.  We narrowed down which team we believed was the most dominant over the past decade, regardless of individual talent, although it does help the overall strength of a program.  These teams were not only strong in a single year, but over multiple iterations within the decade, a testament to the coaching, and the talent.

Team: Fayetteville-Manlius

Head Coach: Bill Aris

Major Wins: Seven NXN Titles ('10-'17), Nine State Titles ('10-'17, '19), Nine Regional Titles,

Rationale: The Nike Cross National streak alone would guarantee them this award, but it was also the way they were able to win, in addition to the winning itself. Their 2010 team was clearly the best of the Decade, scoring an unprecedented 27 points at NXN. In multiple years, they were able to score 1-2-3-4-5 at the State Meet for a perfect 15 points. The ability to reload year after year in one of the smallest schools in the Class A classification demonstrates they didn't rest on natural talent. They set the Five-Man Average Course Records at Van Cortlandt Park numerous times. They had 11-second compression at NXN to win the 2014 Title. The Title run was so intriguing to the rest of the world, even a book was penned this decade about "just how they do it."  Without question, the decade belonged to the Hornets.
