She may have only had the Rockland County record on her mind, but Ciara Durcan (Pearl River) captured more than just that at the State Meet. Winning the walk by 15-seconds, Durcan also managed to break the Sophomore State Record set by Maria Michta back in 2002. It is presumably US #2 All-Time for a Sophomore, behind Taylor Ewert's National Sophmore Record, and ranks as NY #15 All-Time in the event. And not only that, she managed to capture her original goal, breaking the Rockland County record by a second.
