New York and Northeast Regional Previews For FL/NXN

NE Girls Individuals

Breakdown: As is typical for NXN-NE, the Top Athlete Individually will also be looking to lead her team to the big show.  Chloe Gonzalez leads the top-rated team at Regionals, and may be a non-factor for those individuals looking to qualify.

Behind her is Alexa Westley, who finished one spot behind Gonzalez at NJ MOC, and finds herself as the possible top Individual.  In fact, the next two girls from that MOC race at Holmdel are next in line for the trip to Portland, if the results land the same way as the week before.  The big question from NJ would be Nicole Vanasse, who started the race at MOC, but was forced to drop out because of illness. She's had a week to recover, but just how much fitness was lost.  We'll find out Saturday.

Two from Pennsylvania are also in the mix, trying to bring some State diversity to the Individual roster.  Jenna Mulhern is actually the second fastest team scorer, so there is extra incentive for a push.  Right behind her is Isabel Sagar, who had also succumbed to sickness for her State Meet.  Before that, she had impressive showings at Paul Short, and other local meets.  If she is healthy, she will be in contention for a spot.
