Both Francis sisters won in the 800 meters Saturday at the USATF Junior Olympic Championships at North Carolina A&T University in Greensboro, N.C. Claudia Francis (Team Evoluation, Cardozo High) won the intermidate girls race in 2:06.20 while her older sister Phyllis won the young women's race in 2:08.35. Bayside's Alane Tate, running for Metro Eagles track club was fourth in the young women's race in 2:14.10.
Whitney Foundation of Christopher Columbus,running unattached, finished second in the 400 hurdles in 60.48 Saturday and fifth in the 200 in 24.33 Friday.
