It was all about the tailwind in the trials, as Nadia Saunders took home the win over Anaya Dees. Saunders did so by just two inches, more than the margin of influence the wind reading difference would make. But that's how the jumps go outdoors, and as the reigning Indoor Triple Jump champ, Saunders has the chops. On Day 2, the wind wasn't a factor, and fortunes were reversed, both girls earning a Gold medal once the weekend was done. Two sophomores that have plenty of more head-to-head matchups in the years to come. | |||||
