State of the Action: The race was a highlight last year, and with the defending State Champion back in the mix, among others who have rapidly improved, it is poised to once again become a highlight. Ben Bulkeley is entered as a top seed, but his title defense may rest on his race fitness. He has yet to break 2:31 this year, and there are at least six athletes under that so far this year. Chief among them are the Rizzo twins, Alex and Matthew, the latter of which holds the State Leader at 2:27.81. Isaiah Claiborne recently hit 2:29.0, and barely edges out Matt Politis at 2:29.04.
