2017 Girls NYSPHSAA State Meet Preview

Girls Class B - Teams

What The Numbers Say: Prepare for a nail-biter like we haven't seen in awhile for the Girls State Title.  John Jay-Cross River and East Aurora both come in with strong credentials, and an even stronger history at the State Championships.  East Aurora has captured more than a few titles in Class C, but came up short after moving to Class B last year.  John Jay has had some close calls of their own in Section 1, before moving to States in 2015, and winning there, after a Federation title in 2013.

What Can Change: John Jay is much better than the numbers would suggest.  At Sectionals, frontrunner Pippa Nuttall ran into trouble, when her blood sugar plummeted halfway through the race.  She dropped back to fifth runner, then headed over to the medic tent.  With her returned, John Jay should improve by ten points, pulling them slightly away.
