Dual Girls' Course Records & Close Boys' Easterns Provide Thrilling Manhattan Invite - Full Recap

Girls Varsity C

Recap: Coming into the race, the Speed Ratings put Katelyn Tuohy at looking at maybe approaching 13:30.  Even that was unthinkable at the time, as only four girls had ever broken 14mins on the course, which included many Foot Locker and NXN National Champions.

Well, not only did Tuohy disregard the predictions, she shattered them by so much, many thought the early reports were simply a typo.  13:21.8 is more than 30-seconds faster than the previous record, and the fastest 2.5 mile race ever recorded.  Tuohy beat the Eastern States Champion by almost a minute, and placed the record far out of reach for assuredly an eternity, albeit that she herself has two more attempts to lower it even more.  With two years to go, could she do the unthinkable, and break 13mins?
