Perfect Conditions Produce Prime Competition - Full McQuaid Recap

Girls AA

Individuals

Breakdown: Pulling the field behind, Faith DeMars ran away to the fifth-fastest time of the day in the medium schools race. She had plenty of company in the early two miles, as Lizzie Lucason was shoulder-to-shoulder with the sophomore. However, at 2.5 miles, Lucason began to break, allowing fellow 8th Grader Megan McLaughlin to close the gap. DeMars would cross the line for the win, and then it was McLaughlin and Lucason battling for second, as well as the 8th grade course record Both would go under the old record, but it would be Megan to so first, and only fittingly so, as her older sister Marta held the record prior.

Teams

Breakdown: Once again, East Aurora took home the team title in the medium varsity race. They had two sisters out front, with a compression of nine seconds for their 3-5 runners. The team score was a little higher than normal, but much of that was from the out-of-state challengers, like Magnificat of Ohio.
