Collegiate might be the top team though Poly Prep has shown some nice relays, running a 1:35.03 4x200 and 3:31.82 4x400. Collegiate of course leads the league in all the distance events, their usual strength and calling card.

PSAL - Leaderboard

Jermaine Brown of Medgar Evers is a star. This kid just ran 33.65 for 300m, the 10th best time in US history. He has helped is team run 1:28.51 in the 4x200m as well, tops in the state.

We've talked about stars like 44 DARRYL BRADSHAW of Sheepshead Bay, who's tied for the state ilead n the 55HH at 7.44.

Springfield Gardens has a very good time. Their 3:33.16 SMR puts them in contention to place at nationals.

Sean Halpin of Iona Prep has quietly had a break out season as his 2:28.82 proves.

Jordan Hamm is one of the kids that deserves some attention. The Canisius (Buffalo) star has raced in Boston and NYC this winter and he will be competing at the state championships in the 1600m after making the trip down from Buffalo to run at the CHSAA Intersectionals, where he won the 1600m in 4:17.58.

Fordham Prep dominated the team championship, winning by an unheard of 30 points. They have the best 4x400m in the league but were DQ'd at their qualifier. Zach Keefer is one of their stars as he has run 49.52 for 400m.

Sean Atkinson of Nazareth has run 1:20.62 for 600m but will have to contend with Terrance Livingston at the state meet.

Section 1 - Leaderboard

Christopher Carrington seems to be the break out boys star for North Rockland. The senior ran 2:28.8h for 1000m at the Rockland COunty Championships. Most years that's good to win the state meet, but he could have to race Sean Halpin of Iona, Alex Hatz of FM, and perhaps Chris Stogsdill of Marcellus, all of who have run under 2:30. Hatz will probably run the 1600m - just a guess.

John Muller ran 9:11.23 for 3200m and is a state title contender for Arlington, though his teammate Adam Doherty could be right there with him.

Claudio Dellicarpini of Harrison has long jumped 23-03.5 and hurdled 7.2h.

The Ramapo boys 4x200m has run 1:29.20. It's a deep field this year in NY with 4 teams under 1:30.0.

Sean Reilly of Arlington leads the state in the high jump at 6-10.

Section 2 - Leaderboard

Section 2 is loaded as usual in the distance events. Colonie's Tyler Stewart leads the 600m in 1:20.76 and the 1000m in 2:31.49, Shen's Alex Leuchanka leads the mile in 4:18.06 while teammate Dan Harris leads the 3K at 8:40.94.

Section 3 - Leaderboard

Alex Hatz of Fayetteville-Manlius set a NY State Jr. Class record in the 1000m at Manley Field House, not known as the fastest track around. His time of 2:28.20 ranks him #1 in NYS and 6th in the US. Hatz will probably run the 1600m at states, though you never know. Hopefully this kid could come down to The Armory next year and take aim at the NYS record of 2:24.1 set in 1983 by Mile Irish of Burnt Hills. The Collegiate Invitational is the first weekend in February if you're interested.

CAMDEN has run 3:24.32 in the 4x400m, a very fine time indeed.

Rome Free Academy's Anthony DeJean has a season best of 22-05.5 in the long jump.

Liverpool's 8:13 4x800m at Manley Field House is a very fast time and they are a team to watch.

Zavior Brown of Pine Bush is an under appreciated runner. This kid is fast. He's run 1:21.57 for 600m, 1:55.42 for 800m, and 2:30.58 in the 1K.

Warwick Valley's 4x800m 7:58.87 4x800m is 2nd in NYSPHSAA.

Daniel Putnam of Wallkill is one of the top pole vaulters in the state with a 14-06 to his credit this season.

Berfrantz Charles of North Babylon has long jumped 22-02.

Jaquan Holland of Bellport leads the section in the 200m, 300y, and 300m.
