Section by Section Class A Overview
SectionTop Teams Notes
Pleasantville, Bronxville, Putnam Valley, Irvington, Dobbs Ferry Valhalla, Croton Harmon, PawlingPleasantville goes for its fourth straight S1-C title fifty years after it won its sole state championship, but an emerging Bronxville is right there with the Panthers. and a half dozen other teams could be challenging with the addition of one strong runner..
Taconic Hills, Schuylerville, Albany Academy, GreenvilleReigning S2-C champ Glens Falls was moved to Class B, so now last year's 5th place finisher Taconic Hills has the highest rating with all of its varsity back. All four top contenders are running very close together, and this one could go in any direction.
Marcellus, Jordan-Elbridge,  Clinton, Holland Patent, Hannibal, Adirondack, CBAReigning S3-C champ Marcellus enters the season with a good sized lead over the rest of the pack, but this sectional is likely to get close once more.
Watkins Glen, Oneonta, Newark Valley, WindsorStates runner-up Watkins Glen is the favorite for the title this year and should handle the action in the S4-C pretty comfortably .
Addison, Bath-Haverling, Wayland-Cohocton, Marcus WhitmanA great battle looms here as 2015 S5-D champ Addison moves up to face S5-C champ Bath-Haverling, and both teams have largely intact lineups back.
Gowanda, Newfane, AldenWith state champion East Aurora moved to Class B, Gowanda appears to be the likely succesor in a much weakened S6-C.
Saranac Lake, Saranac, PlattsburghSaranac Lake has everyone back and seems likely to unseat Saranac in S7-C.
Oyster Bay, WheatleyOyster Bay loses its top 2 but has little competition in S8-C.
Mount Academy, James O'Neill, OnteoraBoth Mount and O'Neill lost the top two runners, but Mount has a lot more in reserve and is one of the favorites for the States title.
Salmon River, Canton, GouverneurSalmon River has all of its crew back and should win S10-C again.
Center Moriches, Port JeffersonThe departure of Southampton to Class B leaves Center Moriches as the overwhelming favorite with everyone back.
