Foundation Photo Journal: Color War

Copake NY - Kicking off the 2012 Foundation season, MileSplit NY is on-site to promote the new partnership between the two entities.  One of the most unique functions of Foundation Running Camp, a camp that specializes in both XC and Track and Field, is that the full camp engages in something called the Color Wars.  The entire camp is split based on non-team related factors, into four different colors.  The four teams then compete all day long, decked out in their colors, to be named the Foundation Color War Champions.  Check out some of the action below.

The Yellow Team knew how to make an entrance, to kick off the 2012 Color Wars.

Orange would adopt a version of the Mo-Bot, made famous this year by Mo Farah of Great Britain at the Olympics.

Competitions ranged from the fun to the strange.  Here, campers had to pop balloons, relay style.

All campers were able to participate, getting their daily running in, in style.

Any calories gained from the pie eating contest were soon run off, as teams raced back and forth.

The traditional wheel-barrow race was included in Foundation's own twist on the DMR.

Those who knew the hop-skip-jump of the triple jump may have had quite an advantage in some races.

The Red Team, defending champions, tried to retain their title again in 2012.

The competition ended in a four-way tug-of-war that lasted over 10 minutes.  Talk about exertion.

In the end, it would be the Blue Team who would win the 2012 Color Wars.

Again, a big thank you to our fellow sponsors and coaches helping make the camp exciting.
