PSAL Girls Recap

Wrap-up

In odd times like these, Brooklyn Tech was bound to win, and the Engineers won the rubber match in an alternating five year stretch of PSAL championship battles with Benjamin Cardozo after victories in 2015 and 2017. BTech was running by itself with a 46-112 score as it packed five runners into the top 21 led by Lucy Doogan, who repeated her win from last year and this time had a team championship to go along with it. Farah Osman in 6th and Christy Huynh in 7th helped set the tables for the Engineers, and Simone Jimenez and Chloe Isip served up the final winning dish.

Benjamin Cardozo with Siena and Sophia Muccini and Amari Lallemand finishing between 4th to 16th was in 2nd this year, 8 points ahead of a Tottenville squad led by Sabrina Sciabica in 5th,  Lia Smerina in 14th, and Danielle Candella in 20th. Stuyvesant with 2nd place finisher Isabella Stenhouse on the lead was 4 points in back of Tottenville at 124. Millennium had Chloe Isip on the lead in 8th and won a 161-163 battle for 5th over a CSIHS-McCown team led by Olivia Legowski.

Lucy Doogan's winning time of 19:12 was 13 seconds faster than her time from last year, and she was followed in 25 seconds later by Stuy's Isabella Stenhouse. Rounding out the top 5 were Kristen Aguilera of Susan Wagner, Cardoza's Siena Muccini, and Tottenville's Sabrina Sciabica.
