Ocean Breeze Freedom Games Preview Blowout

Boys Distance

1000m

Second at the Freedom Games last year, who would then go on to run 2:29.14, Edward Cerne (Lake Braddock VA) is entered as your top seed here.  However, Nick Masters (St. Joe's By The Sea) is the NY State Leader for 600m, and is looking to take the step up to the 1000m.  Could he challenge the VA dominance in this event over the years?

1600m

You've got a litany of names here who could come out Champion.  At the top, Ryan Guerci (Nanuet) is ready to make his 2019 debut, with his last race coming at Nike Cross Nationals. He's run 4:20 even, but that was before a breakthrough XC Season.  PR's alone puts Ermiyas Harper (Midwood) at the top of the NY pack with his 4:18 for 1600m, but it's close.  Then there is Derek Gess (Haddonfield NJ) whose run 4:18 for the full mile, and is looking to come out strong in 2019 too.

3200m

He's already the top seed in the State for the Mile, so Shea Weilbaker (Saratoga) is heading back to the Freedom Games to defend his 3200m title.  He's never broken 9:13 while leading a race, so will need to push to some extra effort to bring home a new indoor personal best.  Ryan Guerci (Nanuet) will join him as solid competition, as well as Jack McMahon (Bishop Hendricken, RI) who was their lead guy on the fourth place NXN Team.
